In search of Heaven on Earth :: My discussion with Indiana Jones

SILAS : Mr Jones, welcome back. How was the Himalayas? heard u found the lost ark?

INDIANA JONES: questions questions… forget the past man! i have a secret map for a new adventure..

SILAS: really? is it for the lost city of King Jaja of Okpobo? or tell me it’s the map to the legendary Golden City?

INDIANA JONES: Most times i think most of us cannot full comprehend the concept of heaven..as much as we think we have an idea of what its about,i think we are all largely clueless… Whether or not such a place should exist by logic, theology or science is not the subject of my discuss, this is just to take your mind where it may not have gone before…

SILAS : OK?

INDIANA JONES: Think about it; life as we know it is driven by need…
..on one hand, there are those driven by their insatiable need for wealth and/or power and those that claim modesty at least need comfort & security…
…on the other hand, some are driven by a need for love and/or recognition and those that claim modesty to this regard at least need community & acceptance…
..and there is the noblest of pursuits like d pursuit of purpose or happiness; these in themselves are rooted in soul-deep need…

Generally speaking, ‘need’ is not bad, in fact, it is how we are wired but..stay with me here..

Imagine a place where there is no ‘need’, where the streets are ‘paved with gold’ (now that is mind blowing wealth , whether figuratively or literary speaking), a place where love is the very atmosphere, a place with NO need whatsoever !

SILAS: hmmmmm!

INDIANA JONES: I mean, what will life be without ‘need’? Will there be any zest or anything to aspire to/for? If not, can we actually call that ‘living’? is that more like dying?…
… or is it just that there is no ‘need’ as we have come to know and define it ? …yes, this must be the case..
..there must be this one singular ‘need’ that ends all other needs..
…this one singular ‘need’ must be the driver of this superior ‘heavenly’ life ..

…but what could this ‘need’ be?
If you can crystallize it, articulate it and honestly pursue it, you will have found “Heaven on Earth”…
